摘要: AU-Agenda 2063 was adopted at the 24th Ordinary Session of African Heads State and Government in 2015 as blueprint for future development continent. Built upon continent’s past experiences, challenges, successes, comprehensively describes strategic path Africa’s next 50 years. Thus, monitoring its implementation various states is critical ensuring sustainable track progress. However, higher cost collecting data accurately reliably Agenda may hinder progress towards achieving these goals. Satellite Earth observation provides ample data, thus has provided opportunities novel products services with potential to support implementation, reporting imperatives. it been limitedly exploited Africa, evidenced by lower research outputs investments. This calls increased capacity building use available EO users including decision makers advance national, regional continental priorities. The such often hampered capability understand their value addressing socio-economic challenges. paper discusses supporting of, Specifically, this identifies existing resources, role open free open-source software, product dissemination platforms that can be leveraged national development, service delivery achievement targets. Furthermore, recognizes importance bilateral multilateral partnerships leveraging know-how, technology other resources advancing goals emerging space agencies promoting examples from South National Space Agency (SANSA). Then, challenges wide adoption Africa are discussed context 2063. concludes essential address skills gaps increase EO-based solutions making sectors, AU-A2063.
