摘要: Developing reproductive organs within a flower are sensitive to environmental stress. A higher incidence of stress during this stage crop plants’ developmental cycle will lead major breaches in food security. Clearly, we need understand sensitivity and try overcome it, by agricultural practices and/or the breeding more tolerant cultivars. Although passion fruit vines initiate flowers all year round, primordia abort warm summers. This restricts season production regions with Previously, using controlled chambers, stages development that heat were identified. Based on genetic analysis physiological experiments environments, gibberellin activity appeared be possible point horticultural intervention. Here, aimed shield commercial cultivar from end summer conditions, thus allowing new seasons. We conducted over three years different settings, our findings consistently show single application an inhibitor biosynthesis mid-August can cause precocious flowering ~2–4 weeks, leading earlier ~1 month. In case, knowledge obtained phenology, constraints variation, allowed us reach practical solution.
