摘要: The present studies investigated the influence of semantic and syntactic predictability an inflectional morpheme on word recognition morphological processing. In two eye-tracking experiments, we examined effect context processing letter transpositions in inflected words. Participants experienced greater earlier disruption from cross-morpheme when target verbs appeared a that syntactically predicted presence past-tense suffix. Further, internal caused even monomorphemic created expectation complexity. No was observed, potentially because manipulation insufficiently strong. results reveal contexts typical most English sentences can lead readers to make predictions about structure upcoming
