摘要: Thyroid hormone (TH) signaling regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. In the retina, TH plays a central role in cone opsin expression. inhibits S expression, stimulates M promotes dorsal-ventral patterning. has also been associated with photoreceptor viability. Treatment thyroid triiodothyronine (T3) or induction of high T3 by deleting hormone-inactivating enzyme type 3 iodothyronine deiodinase (DIO3) causes death mice. This effect is reversed deletion receptor (TR) gene. Consistent treatment effect, suppressing preserves cones mouse models retinal degeneration. The regulation survival appears to be independent its regulatory mechanism which viability remains identified. current understanding suggests that locally retina may represent novel strategy for degeneration management.
