摘要: The purposes of this descriptive research were to explore end-of-life decisions Thai Buddhist patients and their families reveal values underlying decisions. 210-Thai Buddhists aged 40 years or above recruited systematic randomly. sample comprised three groups: 70 chronically-ill patients, patients' who had no experience in instrument was the Demographic Data Form Values Underlying End-of-Life Decisions Interview with a short vignette each end-stage patient. tested for face validity employed test-retest reliability: Content Validity Index percentage agreement index 0.88 0.90, respectively. collected using face-to-face interviews analyzed statistics content analysis. results showed that: More than half (51.9%) decided forgo life-sustaining treatment. Almost one-third them allowed physician (18.1%) family (10.5%) make them. Only 19.5% continue most important continuing forgoing treatment hope (92.7%) becoming free from suffering (47.7%), Respect value decision (84.2% 59.1%, respectively). findings indicated that it is health care team recognize patient's preferences values, patientautonomy self-determination, support
