摘要: Lower urinary tract dysfunction is a major cause of morbidity and decreased quality life in elderly men women . A number studies have shown that the prevalence bothersomeness lower symptoms (LUTS) crease with age (Hampel et al. 1997, Haidinger 1999, Koskimaki 1998). Urinary incontinence most common problem reported to affect 15–35% community dwelling individuals 22–90% residents nursing homes (Fantl 1996, Schmidbauer 2001, Chiarelli Brown Damian 19981. Despite these figures, many patients avoid discussing their problems family members or health care professionals for being too emharrassed having low expectations treatment (Rovner 2002, Roberts Many doctors do not investigate patients’ problems. This situation unfortunate as proper evaluation much can be done alleviate symptoms. Moreover, complications may arise from neglected improperly treated voiding dysfunction, including infections, retention, even upper damage.
