摘要: Talk in interaction is the prevailing form of instructional activity. To understand and improve second language literacy instruction, an appreciation interactional practices which reading writing are embedded necessary. In this article I examine one aspect these practices: speaker turn design. focus on uses incomplete turn‐constructional units structuring subsequent participation. First, describe several ways teachers design their turns at talk show how furnish differing opportunities for participation by students. Next, task producing written answers as complete stand‐alone sentences can be carried out utterance‐completion plays a key organizing part. Finally, sequential organization used analytic resource diagnosing problem group students encounters answer to story question.
