摘要: Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) has been used as an experimental modality for the treatment of a highly malignant form human brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme. The success BNCT is currently being tested at our institution using anaplastic glioma clone transplanted into caudate nucleus Fischer rats, model multiforme in humans. Since blood boron concentration time irradiation must be low order to successful, we have developed solid-state nuclear track detector (SSNTD)-based sequential assay technique measuring {sup 10}B concentrations rats. With technique, many samples can taken from single rat, thus reducing uncertainty different points, due biological variability among which inherent techniques with one obtain only data point per rat. purpose this paper describe and illustrate its usefulness by providing representative ongoing pharmacokinetic study.
