摘要: Periprosthetic fractures in total hip arthroplasty (THA) are a significant problem facing surgeons, and were responsible for revision surgery 9% of single stage THAs recorded the National Joint Registry England Wales (NJR) 2012; 5th most common cause after aseptic loosening, osteolysis, pain dislocation. The incidence has increased along with number performed. Implants techniques THA continue to evolve, surgical indications expanding performed annually continues rise. Furthermore, patients undergoing earlier living longer, leading rise average years at risk periprosthetic fracture. In this review we will discuss epidemiology femoral fractures, their prevention, classification evidence base treatment.
