摘要: Abstract The behaviour of hamsters in the open field can be influenced by many environmental and hormonal factors. sexual dimorphism ambulation characteristic mature animals was not evident before puberty. Weanlings both sexes were much more active than adults. Pre-pubertal testing prevented later expression this sex difference. score females which had been tested at weaning lower that naive same age similar to males. Other sex-differences, e.g. increased rearing rapid emergence from a box, also abolished pre-pubertal females. Previous did affect sex-typical pattern persisted gonadectomized after puberty subsequently tested, suggested hormones are directly involved mediation behaviour. effect early handling on increasing confirmed. Whether or adrenals take part infancy, adult behavioural response situation appears independent since it unaffected adrenalectomy.
