Gastrin Secretion After Bariatric Surgery—Response to a Protein-Rich Mixed Meal Following Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy: a Pilot Study in Normoglycemic Women

摘要: Recent investigations have linked elevated gastrin levels to the improvement of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG) are effective treatments for T2DM, but it is not known if this related postoperative alterations secretion. Twenty women previously operated with RYGB or SG 13 female controls were enrolled evaluated body mass index, lipids, C-peptide, HbA1c, anti-H. pylori IgG. Glucose, gastrin, insulin, glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) concentrations measured before 30, 60, 90, 120 min after ingestion a protein-rich mixed meal. Six participants primarily selected excluded due usage proton pump inhibitors, positive H.pylori IgG, history yielding following groups: (n = 9), (n = 8), (n = 10). There no differences in age, C-peptide between groups. had significantly lower area under curve (AUC) glucose during test compared (p = 0.013). showed serum (p < 0.05 all). was non-significant increased release (p = 0.091). For controls, there negative correlation response (p = 0.0043). Gastrin secretion diminished RYGB. Hypergastrinemia present SG, tendency enhanced observed. These findings require further investigation prospective studies.
