摘要: THE STATUS OF RED PANDA IN JAMUNA AND MABU VILLAGES EASTERN NEPAL by Brian H. Williams The status of the red panda (Ailurus fulgens fulgens) is examined in cultural context Jamuna and Mabu Village Development Committees (VDCs) Ilam District eastern Nepal. Results indicate that density area average 1 panda/1.38km, they prefer undisturbed Eastern Himalayan mixed broadleaf forest between 2800m – 3000m. Predation greatest threat to population. In last year alone, local dogs killed two panda. also land use decisions are with grazing bamboo harvesting being most detrimental habitat. thesis concludes that, Mabu, critically endangered because intense, its dog predation.
