摘要: Angiogenesis is an important part in tumor progression and intratumoral microvessel density (MVD) has proven a prognostic factor several solid tumors. However, its value prostate cancer still unclear, especially small biopsy samples. We evaluated the potential of MVD large, homogeneous cohort cancers correlation with other pathologic parameters. used tissue microarray (TMA) containing samples 3,261 prostatectomy specimens from patients cancer. was determined by counting vessels blinded fashion after immunohistochemical staining antibody against CD31. The results were compared pre- postoperative clinical pathological parameters follow-up data. higher TMA spots as to benign (P < 0.001). There no significant preoperative parameters, but T-classification Gleason score (P < 0.001, each) specimens. Furthermore, correlated location peripheral zone (P = 0.01). Follow-up data available for 1,521 patients. In univariable analysis, ≥36 per spot predictor PSA recurrence radical (P = 0.03). it failed provide independent when combined standard predictors multivariable analysis. closely related factors contributing aggressiveness. implementation this parameter into routinely performed reports does not seem be warranted.
