摘要: Pyrogenic carbon (PyC) is a chemically stable form of (C) generated during fire events and one the few legacies recorded in soil; however, significance this material as C storage forest ecosystems has received only limited scientific attention, currently relatively little known regarding quantity PyC restoration efforts that include prescribed (Rx) fire. Quantifying rate production essential to estimating potential for ecosystem systems where wildfire common natural disturbance Rx used fuel management practice. In paper, we report on average mass formation through synthesizing data across 12 published studies; empirical replicated study ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) Rocky Mountain West. Our synthesis showed (consisting from downed wood, O horizon, mineral soil) was, average, produced at 5.2% biomass exposed ecosystems, single or event about 2.2 Mg ha-1 PyC. our study, collected horizon surface soil (0 – 10 cm) samples Fire Surrogates plots western Montana (treatments: control, thin, burn, thin&burn) was burned 2002 analyzed content using wet digestion method. The two treatments had significantly higher contents compared control. thin&burn treatment, formed 12% total consumed yielding approximately 2.24 horizon. Mineral were not affected by Wildfire fires generate substantial amount which initially resides serves C.
