摘要: The incidence of elderly patients reaching end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and requiring renalreplacement is increasing. Better medical care helping live longer but, at the same time, raising ethical questions. Treatment decisions for ESRD present a forum consideration questions surrounding issues scarce health resource allocation withholding or withdrawal life-sustaining treatment. As background in patients, quality life they experience what may expect as death approaches also are discussed.
