摘要: A survey is offered of applications to fundamental physical research, in the years immediately following World War II, instrumentalities developed for radar during that war. Attention given astronomy and radio astronomy, linear cyclical accelerators, microwave spectroscopy, molecular beams, nuclear magnetic resonance, electron paramagnetic ferromagnetic measurements resistivity at high frequencies metals second sound helium concepts information signal-to-noise ratio as basic design analysis experiments. In conjunction with this survey, consideration autonomy physics a knowledge-producing enterprise, framed question continuity research directions. As implies baseline, postwar preceded by those prewar directions requiring highest available frequencies. Some 500 references are given.
