Preparation of Micron‐Sized Li4Ti5 O 12 and Its Electrochemistry in Polyacrylonitrile Electrolyte‐Based Lithium Cells

摘要: Micron-sized Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 was prepared in a single-step solid-state reaction involving TiO 2 and CO 3 , its electrochemical behavior evaluated Li-ion cells containing polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based solid polymer electrolyte. The usefulness of demonstrated for three distinctive applications: (i) cathode 1.5 V rechargeable battery, (ii) auxiliary electrode investigating the electrochemistry insertion materials, (iii) anode cell conjunction with high voltage cathode, e.g., cubic spinel LiMn . micron-sized exhibited capacity 160 mAh/g at C/20-C/30 rates which is about 7% better than by this material according to previously published procedure. More importantly, oxide showed significantly rate capability, yielding 25-50% larger 3C 8C rates. Li/solid electrolyte//Li underwent extended, ull-depth, charge/discharge cycling at≥1C virtually no fade. concept (4+x) (x∼ 1.2)//solid electrolyte//LiMn cells. At 1C discharge rate, more 150 cycles were demonstrate these fade 0.1% per cycle an end utilization ∼90 Balanced //solid slightly cathode-limited configuration full-depth extended capability 0.08% cycle. -containing appears come from cathode. When fully packaged, specific energy Li//PAN would be 57 Wh/kg that //PAN 60 Wh/kg.
