MOOCs with attitudes: Insights from a practitioner based investigation

摘要: In the current educational landscape of shrinking public budgets and increasing costs, MOOCs have become one most dominant discourses in higher education (HE). However, due to their short history, they are only just beginning be systematically investigated. an attempt shed more light on MOOC phenomenon, this study complements other approaches by eliciting institutional attitudes provision using qualitative content analysis responses captured a series semi-structured interviews with participants who hold senior positions universities involved creating policy and/or design delivery MOOCs. A context for these was created looking at from historical, pedagogical, monetary technological perspectives. Five topics emerged that were subsequently used as common points reference comparisons across interviews: motivation, monetization, pedagogy, traditional access education. The to, importance of, summarized, also illustrated through quotes participants. Interestingly, it does not appear regarded insiders disruptive media presents them, but rather seen primarily marketing vehicles global brands.
