摘要: American Viticultural Areas are officially recognized appellations for wine grapes (Vitis vinifera L.). They represent not only geographic identification growers, but also economic significance through price premiums from desirable and wines sourcing such appellations. Petitions establishment official descriptions of in the inland Pacific Northwest have traditionally relied on general physical attributes data point measurements, namely weather stations. Examination spatial datasets a information system provides more holistic means assessing viticultural areas spatially continuous representation an area. Comparison to appellation largely corroborate petitioners' claims, often with greater detail, highlight some shortcomings descriptions. By focusing representing environmental factors most important grape production, can be described thoroughly accurately may appropriately delineated. We examined approach, illustrating utility characterization delineation Areas.
