摘要: The claustrum has been proposed as a possible neural candidate for the coordination of conscious experience due to its extensive ‘connectome’. Herein we propose that contributes consciousness by supporting temporal integration cortical oscillations in response multisensory input. A close link between awareness and interval timing is suggested models conjunctive changes meta-awareness multiple contexts conditions. Using striatal beat-frequency model framework, integrates varying frequencies different sensory cortices into coherent pattern binds overlapping percepts unitary representation. striatum allows time-based dimensions decision-making be incorporated consciousness.
