摘要: Bax, a death-promoting member of the Bcl-2 family proteins, triggered cell death when expressed in plants from tobacco mosaic virus vector. Analysis Bax deletion mutants demonstrated requirement for BH1 and BH3 domains promoting rapid death, whereas carboxyl-terminal transmembrane domain completely abolished lethality plants. The phenotype induced by closely resembled hypersensitive response wild-type carrying N gene. function correlated with accumulation defense-related protein PR1, suggesting activated an endogenous cell-death program In support this view, both gene- Bax-mediated was blocked okadaic acid, inhibitor phosphatase activity. ability to induce defense reaction suggests that some features animal plant processes may be shared.
