摘要: The pharmacological modulation of the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment has emerged as a relevant component for cancer therapy. Several approaches aiming to deplete innate and adaptive suppressive populations, circumvent impairment in antigen presentation, ultimately increase frequency activated tumor-specific T cells are currently being explored. In this review, we address potentiality targeting voltage-gated proton channel, Hv1, novel strategy modulate microenvironment. function Hv1 immune such macrophages, neutrophils, dendritic cells, been associated with maintenance NADPH oxidase activity generation reactive oxygen species, which required host defense against pathogens. We discuss evidence suggesting that channel could also be important these within Furthermore, summarized here, express primary mechanism extrude increased amount protons generated metabolically, thus maintaining physiologic values intracellular pH. Therefore, because might both supporting growth, inhibition an innovative approach With focus, analyzed available compounds inhibit highlighted need develop better drugs suitable patients, commented on future perspectives context
