摘要: The 10- to-13 year performance of 307 Mallory Head cementless tapered total hip replacements in 283 patients was assessed. Eighty-five percent had a diagnosis osteoarthritis. Fifty-one were women. mean patient age 64 +/- 10 years. Hex Loc acetabular component and titanium alloy femoral heads used each patient. At final followup, 37 (13%) died, 32 (10%) revision surgery, two (1%) lost to followup. No stem revised for aseptic loosening, but one because sepsis periprosthetic fracture. Wear, osteolysis, loosening problems with the components 31 required these mechanisms. Harris score at followup remaining 87 14 points. Three thigh pain. Radiographic assessment revealed that no or socket definitely probably loose. Three-dimensional wear using Devane technique 0.35 mm per year. cementless, performed well current study, unfortunately, clinical results compromised by use suboptimal component, polyethylene gamma-irradiated air, heads. Future developments obviously will be areas better design, alternate sterilization methods, enhancements terms offset choices, neck perhaps ingrowth surface.
