摘要: Abstract Eight subjects aged 20–30 years spent two 24 h periods in the sleep laboratory after having an adaptation night. At 16.00 began a strict 15 min waking-5 sleeping schedule until 24.00 h. retired for uninterrupted monitored nocturnal sleep. Subjects were awakened 6–7 of sleep, either from REM (in one experimental period) or 25 end period other counterbalanced order, and second 8 was initiated. There no significant differences between percentages stages 1 2 afternoon, evening morning experiments. In each, stage occured about 10 ‘sleep attempts’ accounted 15–19% total recording time; occurred 2–5 attempts 3–8% time. Four showed ‘attempts;’ only appeared during period. Orthogonal spectral analysis revealed dominant ultradian frequency 7.2 c/day both schedules. However, synchronizing individual time series with last resulted appearance single peak at 14.4 c/day, which is REM-non-REM cycles. The present findings are interpreted to suggest that diurnal levels vigilance, as manifested ability fall asleep different times day, regulated by several cyclic processes including circadian least components.
