INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRIALIZATION WITH CAPITAL ACCUMULATION AND SKILL ACQUISITION

摘要: In this paper we develop a small open economy three-sector model of semi-endogenous growth that consists an agricultural sector, manufacturing sector and skill-producing analyze the relationship between specialization processes economic growth. The main results are as follows: (i) for sustainability complete in manufacturing, rate population at home must exceed ROW; (ii) it is possible scarce both capital stock skills industrializes by delaying time when switches from autarky to free trade; (iii) under trade, abundant (skills) but (capital stock) likely asymptotically specialize agriculture.
