Gallstone characteristics in mexican americans and non-hispanic whites

摘要: Mexican Americans have an elevated risk of gallstones. Their increased rates may be due to genetic admixture with Native Americans, who extremely high prevalences cholelithiasis. are believed almost exclusively cholesterol stones, whereas only 73% non-Hispanics reported such stones. Hence we hypothesized that would a higher proportion stones than non-Hispanic whites. We interviewed 398 and 93 whites undergoing cholecystectomy analyzed the composition their were younger (P<0.05).
