摘要: Reproduction in the ewe is dominated by two distinct rhythms: a 16–17-day estrous cycle and an annual of fertility. Events are controlled interactions several hormones (gonadotropin-releasing hormone from hypothalamus; luteinizing follicle-stimulating pituitary; estradiol, inhibin, progesterone ovary; prostaglandin F 2α uterus), while seasonal reproductive patterns determined melatonin pineal gland. In this chapter, we will first describe behavioral hormonal during cycle, then consider mechanisms controlling behavior secretion each hormone. We next synthesize these components to provide integrated model for ovarian cycle. Finally, discuss underlying breeding anestrous seasons, how pheromones social cues act anestrus re-initiate Throughout, emphasize new data obtained last decade, integrating information with established concepts described previous version chapter.
