Generation of generalized moist potential vorticity in a frictionless and moist adiabatic flow

摘要: [1] The discontinuity of the latent heat term could occur in thermodynamic equation transition area between unsaturated and saturated air where is released associated with condensation whereas not air. To fix discontinuity, probability function ()k (q qs are specific humidity respectively, k = 9) introduced into framework ()kqs. The generalized moist potential vorticity (GMPV) thus defined its tendency derived. analysis shows that a frictionless adiabatic flow, GMPV can be generated only generation rate determined by environmental moisture gradient.
