摘要: A method for the analysis and synthesis of closed curves in plane is developed using Fourier descriptors FD's Cosgriff [1]. curve represented parametrically as a function arc length by accumulated change direction since starting point. This expanded series coefficients are arranged amplitude/phase-angle form. It shown that amplitudes pure form invariants well certain simple functions phase angles. Rotational axial symmetry related directly to properties descriptors. An shape similarity or can be based on these relationships; also symmetric synthesized from almost arbitrary established expansion optimal unique with respect obtaining insensitive Several examples provided indicate usefulness features discrimination number interesting generated computer plotted out.
