摘要: Interaction between liquid crystals and alignment layers is of great scientific technical importance, but not fully understood. We studied the aligning effect orthogonally dual rubbed in crystal cells. experimentally observed that with proper numbers rubbing two directions, generated easy axis direction lay them. measured polar azimuthal anchoring strengths layers. second significantly changed strength anchoring. theoretically found Rapini–Papoular formula quadratic quartic terms can predict behavior successfully determined coefficient.
