摘要: Development of plant materials adapted to the demands a harsh environment and conditions created by standard planting practices has resulted in improved seedling establishment for some species. Bluebunch wheatgrass (Pseudoroegneria spicata [Pursh] Love) is an important native bunchgrass often planted Intermountain Pacific Northwest regions. Though cultivars have been developed, this species continues reputation weak seedlings. Forty-seven accessions bluebunch collected from naturally occurring populations 9 geographic regions cultivar 'Goldar' were evaluated germination rate, emergence growth, seed weight. Significant differences weight rate at optimum (15/25 degrees C) cold (1 degree temperatures observed. Seedling 4-cm depth ranged 5 66%. Mean dry shoot 28 days after varied among factor 6. Simple correlations between percentage (r = 0.62) mean 0.63) indicate could be used as preliminary screening test these traits. Seed was not useful predicting rate. Results suggest success may through careful selection traits associated with vigor.
