摘要: Objective—To evaluate the precision and accuracy of assessing bone mineral density (BMD) by use mean gray value (MGV) on digitalized digital images conventional radiographs, respectively, ex vivo bovine equine specimens in relation to gold-standard technique dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). Sample—Left right metatarsal bones from 11 beef cattle femurs 2 horses. Procedures—Bovine were imaged radiography, whereas computed radiography (digital radiography). Each specimen was subsequently scanned same DEXA equipment. The BMD values resulting each scan paired with MGVs obtained software corresponding or radiographic image. Results—The MGV analysis a precise (coefficient variation, 0.1 0.09, respectively) highly accurate method for BMD, compared (correlation coefficient, 0.910 0.937 respectively). Conclusions Clinical Relevance—The high correlation between indicated that may be reliable alternative density. This provide new, inexpensive, readily available estimate BMD.
