摘要: The objective of this work was to evaluate how high soil phosphorus (P) availability affects the photosynthesis and growth young coffee arabica plants (Coffea arabica). Four months old seedlings Ouro Verde cultivar, cultivated in good hydric conditions, were exposed three P treatments: dosage recommended literature (RP); two times (P+); without (P-). Seventy days after treatment application, evaluations leaf gas exchange, photochemical activity, water potential, plant hydraulic conductance (KL), dry matter partitioning, contents pigments carbohydrates, chemical composition done. caused reduction photosynthesis, leading lower growth. P+ showed highest concentrations (~1.9 g kg-1), with increasing CO2 assimilation instantaneous carboxylation efficiency, higher activity - effective quantum efficiency photosystem II apparent electron transport rate when compared RP treatment. Plants double exhibited KL, carbohydrate content chlorophyll content, resulting production as P-.
