摘要: The purpose of this article is to examine DSM-IV's explicit claim be a universal nosological classification mental disorders. This includes two propositions: one concerning its empirical, transcultural applicability, and the other about existence so-called Culture-Bound Syndromes. Both are here discussed, as well arguments that cultural considerations included in DSM-IV have elicited. considers category schizophrenia psycotic disorders, looks into what stated main topic question: debate on nature As conclusion, author thinks amongst biomedical social constructivist views disorders far from being solved.
