摘要: In the present paper we studied life history traits related to seed germination of Stipa tenacissima, a key species in semiarid environments western Mediterranean areas. S. tenacissima is perennial tussock grass, which has traditionally been considered expand mainly by vegetative propagation with little or no sexual reproduction. We analysed longevity as well type dormancy and role covers from seeds collected different populations SE Spain. also variation germinability among populations, individuals, years ability form soil banks. There was significant years. Lemma palea were main factor controlling these differences since their removal promoted higher faster eliminated parameters populations. However, control lemma independent weight, suggesting that chemical nature plays more important than does size germination. Mechanical scarification treatments (via abrasion sand) did not affect The decay two after collection low density viable soils one year dispersal indicated forms transient
