摘要: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death in United States, and hypertension (HTN) a common chronic health condition. Studies confirm that psychological stress associated with increased incidence CHD, recurrence cardiac events, higher risk HTN. Stress appears to influence onset progression via both direct physiological pathways indirect behavioral pathways. Social support dispositional attributes such as optimism may moderate effects provide beneficial effects. psychosocial interventions reduce improve outcomes among patients CHD have produced inconsistent results.
