摘要: Abstract The present study evaluated the effect of restricted suckling (RS) on some physiological and behavioural stress measures compared to artificial rearing (AR). Thirty Holstein × Zebu cows their calves were randomly assigned one two treatments. Cows milked once daily. All tethered in front dams during milking permitting physical contact between them order stimulate milk ejection, starting at 5 days age. Calves RS treatment allowed suckle 60 min daily, 30 after afternoon, while AR fed from teat bottles same times. Data collected day 4 9, treatments started 5. Heart respiratory rates, body weight temperature measured (in that order) 15 before entry into parlour. Blood samples pedometer readings about 50 later, immediately return home pens. Higher heart rate was found group than group. However, cortisol concentration higher ( P > 0.05) temperature, rates It concluded nursing reduces parameters treatment.
