摘要: Abstract We monitored by means of UV-visible spectroscopy the formation and consumption triiodide ion (I 3 − ), generated when iodide ) is used as redox mediator in lithium–oxygen batteries. Results evidence initial I during oxidation, its decomposition reduction. Correlation absorbance with capacity consistent mediation peroxide oxidation above 3 V. Decrease appearance a peak at wavelength 410 nm after 14 hours open circuit voltage revealed side reactions associated to electrolyte degradation leading HOI. This work shows that valuable tool for following involved operation batteries based species formed or consumed.
