Choice and Hope A Preliminary Study of the Effectiveness of Choice-Based Reality Therapy in Strengthening Hope in Recovery for Women Convicted of Drug Offences in Taiwan

摘要: Hope theory identifies goal, pathway, and agency as essential elements of hope that promote maximize the effectiveness treatment. Much significant evidence has indicated is a strong predictor substance involvement recovery. This study aimed to test choice-based reality therapy in strengthening recovery for women convicted drug offences Taiwan. The participants treatment program were 44 incarcerated offences, who randomly selected assigned equal-sized experimental control groups. results study, obtained by ANCOVA analysis, showed differences between two groups posttest scores sense measured subscales goal setting pursuing, adequate energy, controlling pathway. effect size values three variables suggested moderate practical significance. provided present indicates that, upon completion involvement, when compared with those had not yet attended program, Taiwanese reported significantly higher level hope. was their ability goals overcoming obstacles persistence pursuing they set up, energy recovery, capacity up pathways based on goals. findings highlight value enhancing offences.
