摘要: In this study, the robustness of a previously developed classification system that categorizes convective thunderstorm events initiated during various synoptic and dynamic conditions is analyzed. This was used to distinguish between organized unorganized convection then determine whether occurs preferentially over wet or dry soils. The focus on 12 occurred in synoptically benign (SB) environments where Great Plains low-level jet not present (noLLJ), these were accurately classified as evaluated. Althoughthereis asmallsamplesize, the resultsshowthatthe systemfails todifferentiatebetween local large-scale under SB‐noLLJ conditions. authors conclude past studies have study how soil moisture influences should be revisited. Additional variables and/or alternative precipitation datasets employed enhance system.
