摘要: We take a fresh look at diatoms, and find reasonable visual match of some valve girdle contours to various kinds buckling phenomena, describable as corrugations, pleats folds, Bessel functions, such describe the vibrations round musical drum. Buckling raphes costae, considered columns, may account for their features. The matches we will have be tested by finite element method, computer simulation, time sequence microscopy, micromanipulation, direct measurement physical (constitutive) properties materials from which diatom constructs itself. genome set up boundary conditions that lead mechanical instabilities buckling, rather than controlling these patterns in any way. This investigation also led us propose there is an electric potential silicalemma generally straight course growth costae.
