摘要: Abstract History has taught us that Mexican culture been largely supported by women, despite gender prejudice from the society. Neurosurgery not exception. Therefore, we investigated challenges and influence of female neurosurgeons in Mexico. We went through roots neurosurgery Mexico, highlighting life legacy Dr. Maria Cristina Garcia-Sancho, first neurosurgeon Mexico Latin America. Currently, women represent 6.2% total members Society Neurological Surgery (MSNS). This percentage is still low, however data collected this study suggests it might increase next few years since 16.7% Board Directors MSNS are elected president a neurosurgeon, 14.5% residents women.
