Optical properties of α-Nd3+: Na3Y(VO4)2 single crystals – Potential laser materials

摘要: Abstract Single crystals of α-Nd3+: Na3Y(VO4)2 have been successfully grown by the flux growth method and their optical properties were investigated. The α-Na3Y(VO4)2 host crystal belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/n (No. 14). Infrared Raman spectra recorded assignment stretching bending vibrations VO 4 3 - tetrahedra performed. IR R applied in order assign vibronic components electronic transitions Nd3+ ion. absorption (4.2 300 K) fluorescence (77 as well dynamics Nd3+-doped title are presented analyzed detail. 300 K using Judd–Ofelt approach. Ωλ (λ = 2, 4, 6) intensity parameters evaluated subsequently used calculate spontaneous probabilities, branching ratios radiative lifetime for 4F3/2 emitting level Nd3+. ratio 4F3/2 → 4I11/2 laser transition is 47.3%. maximum emission cross-section has calculated be 17.81 × 10−20 cm2 at 1064.3 nm Fuchtbauer–Landenburg equation. spectroscopic show that a good candidate solid-state laser.
