摘要: Falling film evaporation process has been widely employed in various industries such as, refrigeration/HVAC, chemical processing, petroleum refineries, desalination, and food processing. on horizontal tubes also used recently for Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion systems (OTEC). The effect of electric field the falling-film refrigerant R-134a a vertical, electrically heated flat plate was investigated experimentally. test section is 25.4 mm wide 76.2 long. Experiments are conducted both falling spray modes. Electrohydrodynamics (EHD) enhancement mechanism involved described effects parameters as heat flux, mass flow rate, electrode gap, applied voltage investigated. It found that presence an field, maximum transfer coefficient modes nearly same. A 4-fold obtained. EHD power consumption worst case less than 0.12% total energy exchange rate section.
