摘要: The age-adjusted mortality rate from ovarian cancer in the United States has declined over past several decades. decline might be consequence of a reduced number cases (incidence) or reduction proportion patients who die their (case-fatality). In part I this three-part series, we examine rates incidence and Surveillance Epidemiology End Results (SEER) registry database explore to what extent observed can explained by downward shift stage distribution (i.e. due early detection) fewer change risk factors). localized cancers did not increase, suggesting that stage-shift contribute mortality. paralleled incidence. trends coincided with temporal changes exposure women different birth cohorts various reproductive factors, particular, use oral contraceptive pill declining parity. Based on recent factor propensity, predict trend will reverse increase coming years.
