Pathologic anatomic variations in the sesamoids.

摘要: This paper reviews 26 patients who presented with disorders of one or both sesamoids the foot. There is a high association between long-distance running and chondromalacia stress fractures in these bones. Thirty-eight per cent had variations anatomy at this articulation, including asymmetry sesamoid size, symmetrical enlargement, metatarsal condylar hypoplasia, rotational abnormalities.
