Sensitivities and interferences in activation analysis for magnesium, aluminum, silicon, phosphorus, zirconium, and molybdenum using cyclotron-produced fast neutrons

摘要: The possibilities offered for activation analysis by using cyclotron-produced fast neutrons are investigated the elements Mg, Al, Si, P, Zr, and Mo. Neutrons were produced bombarding a thick beryllium target with 10- to 50-MeV deuterons. use of cyclotron in fast-neutron has advantages that rather high fluxes available, that, because variability neutron-energy spectra, optimum conditions respect sensitivity interferences can be chosen. experimental sensitivities obtained Zr range from 0.74 5.5 dpm/ng ..mu..A. These better factor up several hundred comparison data obtainable 14-MeV neutrons. extent is, excluding some few exceptions, at about same level both techniques. 10 figures, 3 tables.
