Statins and their role in acute pancreatitis: Case report and literature review

摘要: Statin induced pancreatitis has historically been considered a diagnosis of exclusion, with literature references typically in the form case reports and observational studies. Recently, larger studies have challenged correlations made by earlier reports, instead demonstrate mild protective effect statin users. We present report likely 58-year-old male (which we attributed to drug-drug interaction resulting inhibition hepatic cytochrome P450 enzymes) reviewed apparent dichotomy available literature.
