The purpose this study is develop uniform, non-toxic surface treatment enhance thecorrosion resistance magnesium alloys. This paper reports influence coating bath parametersand alloy microstructure on deposition 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTS) coatings onmagnesium AZ91. chemistry at magnesium/MPTS interface has also been explored. Theresults indicate that MPTS onto AZ91 was influenced by both pH MPTSconcentration bath. Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy results showed MPTSfilm deposited uniformly all phases surface. X-ray spectroscopystudies revealed interface, molecules bond through thiolgroup an acid–base interaction with Mg(OH)
