摘要: With the increasing prevalence of childhood obesity, there is an urgent need to identify risk factors that are amenable preventative action. However, a remarkable lack consistency between studies have investigated relationships measurements physical activity and energy expenditure body fatness in children. This disparity could be because intake more important determinant preventing obesity. Alternatively, some conflicting results related methodological limitations assessing composition. Erroneous conclusions may drawn if not adjusted for differences composition, or fat appropriately size. For public health purposes it informative evaluate amount intensity required prevent fat-mass gain than assess expended activity. The consensus cut-off points applied define levels severely hindering comparisons using accelerometers examined fatness. Thus, currently possible develop firm evidence base on which establish recommendations until addressed prospective undertaken. In order turn research into effective prevention strategies clearer understanding psycho-social, behavioural environmental influence needed, including interactions other behaviours such as time spent sedentary, sleeping eating.
